Amit Sharma and Manpreet Komal met at Holi (Festival of Colors) in 2004. Manpreet used to audition guys for her dances as part of the first non for profit dance troupe and good guy dancers were rare as were people in the Indian community back then in the Bay Area. Amit and his friend Samip who Manpreet knew from dance picked her up and threw her in a bucket of water. The Song It's the time to Disco came on which Manpreet had just watched in her three month solo venture to Europe in Southhall, UK among eating amazing Paranthas. She said lets dance. After interesting booty shaking with Amit in a group jam in the grounds of Stanford, Manpreet was amazed at someone who had the courage to keep up with her and even wow her. Two weeks later, they were dating. Manpreet fell in love with Amit's big heart, listening to him play tabla, and watching his acting in plays. Their creativity brought them together and their commitment to their own growth in dance, music, and acting is a strong bridge to everyone who comes on their path and leaves with a smile in their heart, magically healed, and sometimes a sweat on their forehead. :) They are both students and teachers of dance, acting, tabla and well known performers and teachers. Thanks to Manpreet's father Ajit Singh and grandfather Kartar Singh Garib who started their own legacy of spiritual writing and speaking, Manpreet has a following of over 150,000 people in her writing and published her 4th book - The Universe Sends Help to help everyone find faith and God during the time of Coronavirus. Manpreet inspires people through her social media writing. Be sure to find and follow her. Amit and Manpreet run Rang De Bollywood together. They love eating good food and traveling to new countries. Their mission is to help the world heal and enjoy through dance, music, and their presence. They are open for private choreography lessons, outside dance sessions, and event performances/lessons. Love and Virtual Hugs to All!
-Manpreet and Amit
A big thumbs up to Manpreet and Amit for their energy, inclusion, acceptance and great dance moves! The classes are fun and inclusive to all despite individuals age or fitness levels.
Manpreet and Amit are very embracing and welcome all to their classes from beginners to those who are used to doing regular classes. While I have been undertaking other online classes during lock down mainly through virtual classes from my gym, this class has been particularly good during Covid19 as it connects people through dance and meditation and is taught with genuine care and warmth in a group virtual setting.
I would like to thank Manpreet and Amit for all they are doing to keep people connected from different parts of the world and spreading their positive energy and enthusiasm for keeping active and helping build fitness and energy during these uncertain and changing times and bringing people together.
The choreography is good and the classes are well taught between Manpreet and Amit. I have attended several Saturday classes of theirs and look forward to attending more!
